Congregational Connection

Thank you to the Old Town Festival of Speed & Style for this $15,000 contribution! This will help to ensure that ALIVE! has the resources needed to provide a safety net for our neighbors in need of food, shelter, and emergency financial assistance for rent and other basic needs.
We are so grateful to our friends at Burke & Herbert Bank, Festival of Speed & Style, Yates Automotive and all of the sponsors of this year’s festival for your generous support of ALIVE! and the The Campagna Center!

Volunteers Needed for the Furniture Program

The long awaited return of the Furniture program is nearly here and we need your help!

Starting September 10th, volunteers with ALIVE!’s Furniture Program will begin collecting furniture donated by city residents and deliver these items to our neighbors in need every week – mostly Saturday mornings and three Sundays of the year.

We’d love to put together a schedule for the rest of the year showing which congregations are volunteering to collect donated items. If your congregation would like to reserve a weekend or be matched up with another congregation’s weekend please let us know by contacting ALIVE! volunteer manager, Xiomara Hernandez, at xhernandez@alive-inc.org, or 703-548-9255.

ALIVE! Office Beautification

Do you know someone in your congregation who has interior design skills and is looking for a fun project? The ALIVE! offices could use some help making our space functional and beautiful. Key aspects of this project include ideas and execution of painting and creative ways to separate office workspaces.

Celebrating the Start of the School Year
Last week, ALIVE! was invited to join UNCUT Youth LLC to celebrate the start of the school year at a distribution of free school supplies, free hair cuts, food and more! Thank you to everyone who donated supplies to help local students succeed and for all of the community organizations who came out to offer support services.
