Did you catch the ALIVE! crew on Fox 5 DC?

In case you missed it, here’s the clip from Fox 5 DC’s Zip Trip interview with ALIVE!’s Jennifer Ayers, Jose Amaya, and Xiomara Hernandez.

Alexandria’s West End neighborhood was featured in a morning-long live broadcast from Port City Brewing Company on Friday. There were more than a dozen live segments showcasing local dining, arts, history, and the community.

During the broadcast, Jennifer was recognized for her work alongside the ALIVE! team as part of the Hometown Hero series. Special thanks to Lafayette Federal Credit Union for their financial support and for the entire Fox 5 DC team for the opportunity to highlight the work ALIVE! volunteers do to help our neighbors in need.

Thank you to everyone who helped out at the July 30th food distribution events and all of the pop-up events throughout the month. It takes a huge team to make sure these event operate smoothly! This month we provided groceries to more than 3,500 families in Alexandria. That’s more than 100,000 pounds of food!

Are you able to volunteer at one of the August distributions? Our greatest need is at the last Saturday events helping out with parking, and handing out groceries at each of the three locations.

Saturday, August 27
Cora Kelly Elementary School (3600 Commonwealth Ave)
NVCC Alexandria Campus (parking lot B-1 via 500 Dawes Ave)

We’ve been selected by the Giant Food Community Bag Program!

We are so excited to share that ALIVE! has been selected to benefit from Giant Food’s Community Bag Program, which makes it easy for customers to contribute to their local communities.

For the month of August, whenever a $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the Giant Food located at 3131 Duke Street, $1 will be donated to ALIVE!.
