As a Food Drive Captain you’ll be matched with one (or two) collection sites. In July, you’ll pick up donated food from collection sites and deliver it to the warehouse for weighing. All food donations will benefit ALIVE! and Hunger Free Alexandria’s food pantries. Learn more and sign up with Volunteer Alexandria.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Got a Flexible Schedule and a Will to Help?
Join our Furniture Flex Squad! This new “on-call” group helps our Furniture Program respond to pressing needs and manage donations that can’t wait until the weekend. We’re looking for volunteers who are willing to be added to an email list and receive occasional requests to help with special weekday pickups and deliveries. It’s perfect for people with hybrid schedules, remote work flexibility, or a random free afternoon. We’ll email when something comes up. If you’re available, great! If not, no worries! We’ll reach out again another time.
Make a direct impact in your community—on your terms.
Interested? Reach out to Nancy Lopez at furniturechair@alive-inc.org.
